hp reduction
now i'm relatively new to this game and newer to this forum but my question is this:
i am in the process of making a monk/nec and have been reading thru some posts on here and have come across info relating to obtaining HP reducing items due to the effects of protective bond spell. now i am somewhat confused as to why u would want a reduction in HP, it takes as many hits to kill a character with 200HP as it does one with 100HP when you are reducing by 5% a shot. i would appreciate any explaination on this...maybe i'm just missing something thx |

because a heal still does 50 hp/8 regen or whatever...50 health is 50% of 100 health while 50 is only 20% of 250

2) Then lets say you have 100hp and take 5% damage thats 5 damage, which means 20 hits and you are dead... hmmm, yes thats hard to understand isn't it ? So what's the deal ? Lets say you have a shield that reduces damage with -1. Now consider scenario 2. You have 100 hps and take 5% damage, thats 5 damage -1, which means 25 hits and you are dead...(better huh) Lets consider scenario 1, with -1 shield. Which means you have 500hp and take 5% damage, thats 25-10=24, which means 20.83 hits and you are dead..(not much better huh?) Now consider Live Vicarously, you gain 1-11 health, lets say you have attribute so you get 10 and you hit every 2 seconds. Then every second you gain 5 health, which is the maximum damage you can take from one guy hitting you per second....Your health bar should not move, wheras with scenario one (500 hp) you can gain back -25+5 = -20 ( yes you are dying).... Consider Mending then at +3, thats 6hp every second....one guy hitting you with melee attacks will not be able to kill you..., However, the downside is conditions and hexes....if you have -10 degen on you from conjure phantasm and posion etc, then you will be dead in 5 seconds with 100 hps. You can run this build successfuly if you bring Mend Ailment, Remove hex and are able to heal yourself quickly against conditions and hexes. Healing Breeze I think would be a must. hope that helped Ratatass |
